Teaching with Outschool

I teach art classes that focus on storytelling. Whether it is character design, comic strips, long-form comics. My classes focus on how the picture can tell the story rather than the written word.

I have 2 degrees in Computer Art and Sequential Art from the Savannah College of Art and Design and I have been working in these fields for over 20 years for a variety of companies, including IBM, the Cartoon Network, and IDW Publishing, to name a few, as a freelancer.

My philosophy is to bring a little bit of knowledge to creating art, but also to have fun in a lighthearted atmosphere of teaching, application, and discussion. I have had 2 children’s picture books published. My wife wrote both books and my nine-year-old daughter has contributed art in each of them which makes my work truly a team effort!
